Cathie Kayser is a Houston print artist whose work is in collections in Houston, Los Angeles, Seattle, Cincinnati, and Tel Aviv. She has participated in numerous group exhibits in Houston and Texas. She is the founder of PrintMatters, an arts organization she began with four other artists in 2009. In 2010, they created PrintHouston and Rockin’ Rollin’ Prints.
She is represented by Nicole Longnecker Gallery and her next solo exhibition will be April 2017. Her last exhibit was titled: “I had a map … I forgot to turn it around” and was about loss and being lost, but mostly the loss of control over the events in our lives, a lesson we all must learn again and again. Please visit www.longneckergallery.com to see the images from that exhibit.
Cathie is the studio manager and a printing assistant to master printer Patrick Masterson at Burning Bones Press. She works in a variety of printmaking techniques––lithography, woodcuts, intaglio, and monoprints–often combining more than one in a piece.
